I like shiny things. Who doesn't? Anyone who says otherwise is downright lying to themselves. Recently, I came across these copper pots and pans. Yes pots and pans. Now a little back story about me. I love to cook. I've only recently started to like it, but its already become a part of me. It excites me just as much as whenever I see Helvetica Neue being used. I even bought a new knife set that I take great pride in keeping clean. Now back to the pots. I saw these pots and pan on some random website. It wasn't even part of the actual content of the website. It was just an ad! However, it really attracted me. The color, an indescribable mix of orange and salmon and pink and brown, and that shine is enough to make me want to buy everything in copper. It wasn't the first time I've come upon copper in design (yes I think pots and pans are DESIGNED and not just made), there is a website called Plentyofcolour.com. There was a post about the use of matte black against copper details on a poster that made me tear up. It was just so beautiful. I never got the chance to actually use that in one of my designs and so I eventually forgot about it. Until now. Now I don't think I will ever forget it! (well especially now since I am writing a blog about it) Hopefully, I will be able to get my hands on some copper pots and pans, even though they are super expensive. Maybe I will add them to my wedding registry or something. (Im not even close to being married. Maybe in about 5 years.) Until then, I will continue to look at beautiful copper things.
